The Origins of the House
Els Hanappe is an art historian with an extensive background in contemporary art. Over the years, she has worked as a gallery owner, exhibition curator, and manager of private art collections, developing a deep understanding of the relationship between art and its audiences.
Drawing on this experience, she founded HANAPPE House of Art, a cultural house dedicated to translating contemporary artworks into limited-edition silk creations.
The inaugural collection features artwork by Lazarus Siakos, a self-taught artist whose collage series Brillantism provided the artistic foundation for the first HANAPPE silk editions.
Together, this dialogue between art history and artistic practice reflects the spirit of the house.
